Doosan Infracore, with over 70 years of history, has strived to take another giant leap forward by improving its competitiveness and securing new growth engines through global M&A activities, since becoming a member of Doosan Group in 2005.

Establishment and Development

1937

  • Established Chosun Machine Works

    Established Chosun Machine Works

    Doosan Infracore began its life in 1937 as Chosun Machine Works. The company, Korea’s first large-scale machinery factory, was set up in Incheon, becoming a state-run enterprise and being renamed Korea Machinery Industries Corp. in 1963. Then, it made contributions to Korea’s industrial modernization.

  • Completed the construction of Incheon Diesel Engine Factory

    Completed the construction of Incheon Diesel Engine Factory

    Doosan Infracore invested a total of KRW 28.8 billion worth of local and foreign funds (including a public loan worth D.M 41 million and a commercial loan worth D.M 30 million from Germany) in constructing the largest diesel engine factory in Asia at that time with a yearly production capacity of 60,000 units in a reclaimed coastal area near its Incheon plant site.

  • Established Doosan Infracore Europe S.A. in Belgium

    Established Doosan Infracore Europe S.A. in Belgium

    Doosan Infracore completed the construction of its first overseas plant with an annual production capacity of 2,500 excavators on a 82,000㎡ site in Frameries, Belgium.

1994

  • Established Doosan Infracore Suzhou Co., Ltd. in China

    Established Doosan Infracore Suzhou Co., Ltd. in China

    Doosan Infracore was the first Korean heavy machine firm to set up an excavator and forklift manufacturing subsidiary in China. The subsidiary maintains dominant position in the current Chinese excavator market.

    Established Doosan Infracore America Corp.

    Doosan Infracore set up its subsidiary in the United States to deliver locally customized products.

    Established a holding company in China, Doosan Infracore China Investment Co., Ltd

    Doosan Infracore China Investment Co., Ltd, a holding company set up in Beijing, manages and supports subsidiaries in China to enhance business expertise and efficiency.

  • Acquired CTI, holder of original technology for HCNG engines

    Acquired CTI, holder of original technology for HCNG engines

    Doosan Infracore acquired CTI in Nevada, United States and thereby secured world-class eco-friendly original technologies for HCNG (Hydrogen Blended Compressed Natural Gas) engines.

  • Established Doosan Infracore India Private Ltd.

    Established Doosan Infracore India Private Ltd.

    Doosan Infracore set up its subsidiary in India, a fast-growing economy, and established its sales networks consisting of dealers and branches to raise its market share.

  • Acquired Yantai Yuhua Machinery Ltd. (Present: Doosan Infracore Shandong Co., Ltd.)

    Acquired Yantai Yuhua Machinery Ltd (presently Doosan Infracore Shandong Co., Ltd)

    Doosan Infracore acquired Yantai Yuhua Machinery, a wheel loader manufacturer in Yantai in Shandong province of China and thereby secured a wheel loader production base and a permit to enter the wheel loader market that accounted for 40% of the Chinese construction equipment market.

    Doosan Infracore jumped to 7th place in the world construction equipment by acquiring Bobcat, etc., in November 2007. Bobcat has the world’s highest level of competitiveness in the area of small construction equipment.

    Awarded the USD 2 Billion Export Tower on the Trade Day

    Doosan Infracore expanded its exports from USD 1.25 billion in 2005 to USD 2.165 billion in 2007 by almost two-fold within two years and was awarded the USD 2 Billion Export Tower on the 44th Trade Day.

    Acquired Moxy Engineering A.S., a Norwegian articulated dump truck company

    Doosan Infracore acquired Moxy Engineering A.S., which has developed the world’s first ADT and secured related original technologies, to successfully advance into the large-sized mining equipment market.

  • Completed the construction of a wheel loader manufacturer in China

    Completed the construction of a wheel loader manufacturer in China

    Doosan Infracore completed the construction of a wheel loader plant on a 110,000 m2 site in Muping Qu, Yantai in Shandong province to provide wheel loaders to both China and global markets.

2010

  • Completed the construction of Gunsan Construction Equipment Plant

    Completed the construction of Gunsan Construction Equipment Plant

    Doosan Infracore completed the construction of a construction equipment plant on a 610,000㎡ site in the Gunsan Industrial Complex, which has a yearly production capacity of over 4,000 large units, including six types of excavators and four types of wheel loaders.

2011

  • The Industrial Vehicle Division was spun off – launched as Doosan Industrial Vehicle Co.

    The Industrial Vehicle Division was spun off – launched as Doosan Industrial Vehicle Co.

    The industrial vehicle division was spun off from Doosan Infracore to be reborn as Doosan Industrial Vehicle Co.

2012

  • Completed the construction of Compact Diesel Engine Plant in Incheon

    Completed the construction of Compact Diesel Engine Plant in Incheon

    Doosan Infracore completed the construction of a compact diesel engine factory on a 14,000㎡ site in Hwasu-dong, Incheon, which can manufacture 100,000 engines of three types (1.8L, 2.4L and 3.4L) a year. Tier 4 Final compact engines from the plant are also mounted in Bobcat compact equipment.

2013

  • Completed the construction of Wheel Loader R&D Center in China

    Completed the construction of Wheel Loader R&D Center in China

    DICC (Shandong) completed the construction of a wheel loader R&D center, the first among foreign companies in China, and thereby was able to quickly respond to clients’ needs, as well as to develop locally customized products in the fast changing Chinese wheel loader market.

  • Completed the Construction Equipment Factory in Brazil

    Completed the Construction Equipment Factory in Brazil

    Doosan Infracore completed the construction of an excavator plant with a yearly production capacity of 1,500 units in Sao Paulo to make inroads into Brazil, the largest construction equipment market in South America.

    Doosan Infracore established Doosan Infracore Bobcat Holdings Co., Ltd. (DIBH), an intermediate holding company, to pursue more efficient business operations in North America and Europe.

  • Completed the construction of Global R&D Center in Incheon

    Doosan Infracore completed the construction of its new Global R&D Center - a 12-storey building with two additional basement floors, a total floor space of 26,163㎡, and the capacity to accommodate 1,000 R&D personnel - within the premises of its plant in Hwasu-dong, Incheon, Korea.

    Doosan Infracore completed the construction of the Acceleration Center, an integrated two-storey research facility with a total floor area of 18,000㎡, at its Bismarck Plant, North Dakota, USA. The center is designed to accelerate the company’s technological breakthroughs and innovations in the area of compact construction equipment.

    Completed the construction of Innovation Center in Dobris, Czech Republic

    Doosan Infracore completed the construction of the Innovation Center, which is dedicated to technological development and support for testing carried out throughout Europe, in Dobris, Czech Republic.

    Doosan Infracore received certification for its inclusion in the DJSI Asia-Pacific at the International Conference for Dow Jones Sustainable Management Index 2015 for the 5th year running.

    Incheon and Gunsan Plants Receive 'Safety Zone Certificates'
