Response to Climate Change

Doosan Infracore has implemented diverse activities to reduce greenhouse gases (CO2), concluding a voluntary agreement with the government to preserve the environment to actively participate in its initiative to save energy and respond to climate change.

Climate Change Response Strategies

To cope with climate change issues, Doosan Infracore has drawn up a mid/long-term greenhouse gas management roadmap and is striving to meet the goals laid out in the plans.

In 2015, Korea embarked upon the carbon emissions trading scheme, pursuant to which Doosan Infracore was allocated an emissions quota for three years. The company worked out seven ‘Energy Diet’ measures for reducing its GHG emissions, and has taken action to encourage all its employees to participate voluntarily in their implementation.

Meanwhile, Doosan Infracore has been carrying out the ‘Carbon Partnership’ project, which has been selected as a national project, since 2015, with the aim of supporting its suppliers' efforts to reduce their GHG emissions. The project supports supplier companies’ efforts to establish carbon management systems and compile a greenhouse gas inventory. The company also plans to cope more proactively with climate change issues in the future by striving to secure an ideal level of carbon footprint labeling for its products, a system that is designed to promote a consumer-led purchasing pattern of low-carbon products, and to encourage enterprises to develop technologies for low-carbon products.
